Also known as the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC). This bond dates from 7 November 1623, for the amount of 2,400 florins; written out and authorized in Middelburg but signed in Amsterdam.

This is from my personal collection. 1629 work on Dutch history 1558-1567 written by a pro-Spanish author. This is printed on vellum, the book is bound in goatskin, and this is a Latin translation.

The Dutch East India Company (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie or VOC in Dutch, literally "United East Indies Company") was established on March 20, 1602, when the Estates-General of the Netherlands granted it a 21-year monopoly to carry out colonial activities in Asia.
The logo of the VOC consisted of a large capital 'V' with an O on the left and a C on the right leg. The first letter of the hometown of the chamber conducting the operation was placed on top (see figure for example of the Amsterdam chamber logo).
